Celebrating Success at the Exeter Living Awards

We’re thrilled to share that Bethany, our Business Development Manager at City Science, has been named Young Business Person of the Year at the Exeter Living Awards!

Bethany is an ambitious, emerging young professional with a particular passion for retrofit. At City Science, she has project managed large innovation projects, including four Heat Pump Ready initiatives funded through DESNZ, all accelerating the UK’s transition to net zero. Beyond her work at City Science, Bethany is passionate about empowering others in the sustainability sector. She has been a key advocate of City Science’s Women in Net Zero initiative, which champions, an initiative championing diversity and inclusion which connects and empowers women across the climate and energy transition, and serves on Swansea University’s Industry Board, where she helps shape climate-focussed skills in engineering education.

Her achievements extend beyond the business world, Bethany has also earned caps playing for the Premiership women’s side Leicester Tigers this season and is a strong advocate for mental health awareness working with the charity Brave Mind, embodying resilience, and dedication both on and off the field.

Alongside Bethany’s well-deserved recognition, City Science was Highly Commended in the Technology & Innovation category, acknowledging our continued commitment to developing data-driven tools and solutions that enable smarter, more sustainable cities. We were also shortlisted for the Sustainability Award, reflecting our company-wide mission to accelerate the journey toward a cleaner future.

Congratulations to Bethany and the entire City Science team! We’re proud to celebrate this success together, a testament to the innovation, passion, and purpose that drive everything we do.
