City Science was really happy to support the CIHT event to provide input into the England’s Economic Heartland’s Transport Strategy yesterday.
It was a great opportunity to work with expert stakeholders to explore some of the topical issues facing the EEH and the wider industry:
- Achieving an appropriate balance between growth and climate objectives;
- Achieving a balance between connectivity at a local vs inter-city level;
- Ensuring the strategy appropriately incentivises a wide range of modes
The day consisted of a series of workshops designed to challenge the Outline Strategy which covered the following key areas:
- Connecting People
- Connecting Places
- Connecting Opportunities
- Connecting Services
- Investment
- Delivery
“It was an incredibly thought-provoking day that really brought home the important role sub-national transport bodies have to play in setting, supporting and delivering local transport visions at this time of unprecedented change” – Matt Bellamy, Business Development Director
The event also provided a great opportunity to showcase Cadence to local authorities and consultancies operating within the Heartland area.
