Cadence Update: Expanding Geospatial Insights with New Data & Features

We are constantly enhancing our geospatial platform Cadence to provide richer, more comprehensive insights for our users. In our latest update, we’ve introduced a range of new datasets and features that improve spatial analysis and decision-making. Here’s what’s new in Cadence:

New & Expanded Data

1. Green Belt Boundaries (1997 Onwards)

Understanding changes in Green Belt land over time is crucial for urban planning and environmental conservation. We now provide all Green Belt boundaries from 1997 onwards, allowing users to track historical trends and assess the impact of development policies.

2. Enhanced Domestic Property Data

Our database now includes even more domestic property information, offering greater insights into housing stock, property characteristics, and development patterns. This data is invaluable for market analysis, planning applications, and policy development.

3. Comprehensive Open Space Access Data

We’ve added an extensive dataset covering access to open spaces, ensuring users have all the information they need to analyse public land accessibility. Whether it’s urban green spaces, parks, or recreational areas, this dataset helps planners and policymakers design more inclusive and sustainable environments.

4. Pension Credit Claimants Data

Social and economic insights are key components of geospatial analysis. Our latest update includes pension credit claimant data, helping users understand economic vulnerability and target support where it’s needed most.

5. Substation Locations and Distribution Areas

We’ve incorporated substation locations and their distribution areas from DNO Open Datasets. This data is essential for energy planning, infrastructure development, and optimising electricity distribution networks.

6. Prevalence of Heating Systems

Understanding heating system distribution is key to energy efficiency and sustainability efforts. Our new dataset provides insights into the types of heating systems used across different regions, helping inform energy policy and planning.

7. Collisions Data

Road safety analysis just got better with the inclusion of collisions data. Whether for transport planning, road safety initiatives, or risk assessment, this dataset provides critical insights into accident hotspots and trends.

New Feature: Annotations in Geospatial Mapping

One of the most requested features, annotations, has now been added! But why is this important for geospatial mapping?

  • Enhanced Data Interpretation: Users can now add context to maps, making complex spatial datasets easier to understand.
  • Improved Collaboration: Teams can share insights directly on maps, reducing the need for separate documentation.
  • Customisable Insights: Tailor your geospatial analysis with notes, highlights, and markups, ensuring that key observations are not lost.
