City Science is proud to announce its appointment as the Net Zero Finance Advisory partner for Innovate UK’s Net Zero Living Programme, in partnership with BwB. Through this project we are working in partnership with BwB to deliver financing support to a cohort of 52 local authorities to help them accelerate their decarbonisation plans.
The Net Zero Living Programme, an initiative funded by Innovate UK, aims to assist place-based decarbonisation, but supporting local authorities across the UK to accelerate progress towards Net Zero emissions. Our role as the Finance Technical Assistance Provider (TAP) will be pivotal, providing Net Zero financial advisory services and strategic support across the local authority cohort.
Local authorities often face substantial financial barriers in their journey towards decarbonisation including navigating complex funding mechanisms, engaging with investors and securing adequate buy-in to their plans. We will address these challenges by providing training, insights, standardised tools, investor relations and strategic guidance to help local authorities navigate these issues. We will also work collaboratively to support the development of innovative financing mechanisms to help move the wider industry forward.
City Science and BwB will play a crucial role in fostering an active community among the participating local authorities, sharing best practices and providing ongoing support to ensure sustainable outcomes. This engagement will not only drive effective fund management but also ensure that the actions taken are in line with long-term net zero goals.
